UVA bought LTL, completely disassembled it, and went to work on a long list of updates, and
Engine: Overhauled with matching paint colors to AC. 160hp ram conversion was completed along
with installation of a short stack PowerFlow exhaust system. With both of these mods, the aircraft is
projected to produce 178hp and excellent fuel economy. A Sky-Tec flyweight starter, new oil filter
system and all new baffling, seals and hoses were installe.. Engine mount was removed, inspected, and
reattached with all new mounting hardware and rubbers. All brand new lycoming cylinders were
installed on the engine during overhaul.
A brand new propeller was ordered for LTL, already pitched click here to the specifications for the Ram
conversion on the engine.
Exterior: AC stripped down to bare metal, controls, fairings, wheel pants, windows and wing tips were
all completely removed. AC was acid etched, alodined, and primed. Top coats applied with custom
colors and design with all new decals and placards. Controls were balanced and reinstalled along
with 22 new plastic fairings and new wheel pants. The long range fuel tanks on this aircraft were
removed, inspected and reinstalled with new stainless hardware and new hoses. All brand new glass
was ordered from the Cessna factory and installed, along with new seals
Interior: Seats, plastics, headliner and dash were all removed for refurbishment. Interior, with
everything removed was etched, alodined and primed. All the seats were torn down to bare metal, and
the frames painted. The foams and backing were replaced and covered in leather. The side panels in
this AC were redone in leather and colored to match.. All interior plastic parts were removed,
repaired, replaced when needed, and recolored. The dash beneath the windshield was reupholstered.
New seat belts were installed. The switch panel was ordered new from the factory. New carpet was
custom cut and fit.
